www.ftglobalevents.com/medsustainableenergy

This event is organised under the auspices of H.E. The President of the Hellenic Republic, Dr. Karolos Papoulias.

The UN's Copenhagen conference presents the leaders of the countries of Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean with an unrivalled opportunity not only to tackle the challenges that climate change presents to the region but also to grasp the opening to establish the region as the sustainable energy hub for Europe. Both goals can be achieved through the development of forward thinking energy and environmental policies and a partnership approach between the public and private sectors.

Bringing together senior governmental officials, business leaders, financiers and energy experts, Financial Times Global Events and The Banker are pleased to present the third annual Mediterranean Sustainable Energy Summit. This landmark event will provide a forum for debate and dialogue on key questions and issues including:

  • What steps need be to taken to launch the Mediterranean as the sustainable energy powerhouse for Europe? What investment is required and what economic benefits would be gained?
  • How can Government and business work together to prioritise energy efficiency and conservation and adapt the region to the effects of climate change?
  • Where are the investment opportunities in renewable energy technologies and green business in the region? Can climate challenge be turned into opportunity?
  • What progress being made in reducing the carbon footprint of cities? What techniques and technologies can be applied in the cities of Southeast Europe?
  • What steps are leading companies taking to reduce emissions and manage energy costs? How are solar and wind energy are being harnessed and used in the real world?

Please find below a complete overview of the forthcoming Summit.
